About us
Nueva Generacion (or New Generation in English, but we also call our group very often NG ) is a Latin American collective working cross-culturally to raise awareness of social issues, stimulating change and promoting our culture.
NG runs its workshops in south London : Vauxhall Garden Community Center, 100 Vauxhall Walk Lambeth, London SE1, UK.
New Generation is ran by young people for young people. We come together as a community to support and value each other, and share both negative and positive experiences as well as growing together which allows us become empowered and strong individually as well as collectively.
NG is based in Lambeth our members come from all over London to participate to the activities provided by this amazing collective.
- New Generation was set up as an attempt to help Latin American young people in London (age 16 to 30) cope with living in a foreign country and integrating into an alien society.
At New Generation we talk and act on social change empowering our participant’s through participation and observation. We aim to create a safe environment in which young people can realise their great potential. Where they can explore and overcome the social, emotional and mental issues that arise for them as immigrants and refugees. As well as taking an active role in raising them to the general public and social entities so that they can be better addressed.
The group gives Latin American youth the opportunity to use the arts as a medium of expression and a tool for self development and self empowerment, aiding them to express their feelings, break down personal and social barriers and take action in the issues that affect them.
- Using art as our tool, we are creating a model of participatory action learning, networking on a local and international level. We work closely with the Latin American, London-wide and international community through the arts, including music, drama, dance, capoeira, circus, percussion, poetry and crafts.
As an art led group we welcome artists and individuals with an interest in socialising and sharing their skills.
Our art skills and work allow us to organise and participate to fundraising events for different charitable purposes such as funding N.G. and other collective working localy or internationaly.

For us NG is a philosophy as well as a place of creation. In this place we have encouraged each other through artistic means to challenge our perception of the world around us. In this way, changes to our immediate reality have been triggered. One example of such change is the fact that most of us are in higher education institutions or have already become professionals as we have realised that education is fundamental in order for social change to occur.
